  • I've never recorded onto a laptop, but if it's hard drive you're worried about - I just finished mixing a project consisting of over 30 tracks (in Sonar), with relatively few dropouts, on a laptop with a single hard drive (one partition). I don't think you have anything to worry about.

  • <div style="displaynone">fiogf49gjkf0d</div>Yeah thanks again.
I had pro tracks running fine on the laptop before i tried to use the USB recording.
I will start all installation again.
Really appreciate your help and comments.
    cheers
  • What problem are you experiencing? You might want to increase the buffer size a little. A larger buffer gives slower hard drives more time to catch up to the CPU and RAM, resulting in more reliable performance. The setting in question is in Options/Audio, or something like that.

Also you can run Wave Profiler from the same menu to let Cakewalk figure out what the \"safe\" settings are for your particular machine. GNX has to be up and running when you do that.

That's all I record on (Presario R3000) and I haven't noticed any issues yet. I have not compared it to anything else, but so far so good.
  • <div style="displaynone">fiogf49gjkf0d</div>Hi,
Thanks for all the help recently.
I finally got all new toys working.
Got the protracks working on the laptop and the usb recording works fine !
    Thanks to all who posted.
I'm pretty sure i was the problem ... not the products.
After re-installing and firing up all again it worked fine.
