GNX3000 Speaker Comp

Unbelievable.

After over a year of the gnx4 forum being spammed with complaints about the sound due to the speaker comp being off, the 3k has the setting buried in the Setup Menu and it's off by default.

I know a guy on another forum who returned a 3k because it was \"just too bright for my ears to enjoy the sound\". I asked him if he pushed the spkr comp button in (I didn't know about the change to the Setup menu at that time)--he said it didn't have spkr comp. I wonder how many sales they are losing because of this.

  • No Kidding, the first time I saw the pictures of tha back I tought, great they got rid of IT!!

Until I got it, and the same fuzzy mess and had to go to the utility menu....and as you said OFF!! WTH???
  • mine came on as default - and it behaves like the RPX or V-amp = off its very tinny and buzzy, an on its smoother and darker = for direct recording its great, i havent trried it through an amp. no problem with it really.

only thing i really dislike about the 3k so far is the headphone out = its sounds fowl!! i run the line outs into my hi-fi and plug my headphones in the amp = much better!.

Mine also was on by default, when its off every preset sounds the same :( and my only complaint so far is the delay between switching presets is pretty noticeable, but best feature UNIVIBE \\m/

Tons. I'm sure Boss and Line6 are, too, for the same problem (live vs. studio mode or something stupid). SC was definitely the first thing i looked for when I got mine plugged in for the first time, so I don't remember what it defaulted to - just remember that it was \"on\" when i was through with it..

The delay is not as noticeable when using bank mode. I haven't found too many great uses for the Unovibe, but it's an interesting feature. What do you make of the remark in the manual:

    \"Parameter 3
KNOB 4 adjusts the pedal - more TBD.\"
