acoustic guitar pups???

i have an inexpensive seagull acoustic that sounds pretty decent. i'd like to get a cheap pickup so i can do some recording through protracks. ive seen some cheap ones that you just screw into your soundhole and the cord comes out of the soundhole.

1. does anyone have any specific pup reccomendations?
2. will this sound as good recorded on PTP as the actual guitar does?
3. or am i better off using a mic and recording it that way? (keep in mind im a total noob when it comes to recording and that i have a $50 dynamic mic).
4. or am i just better off using a clean patch with my electric? ps - i havent been able to make g3456s acoustic patches sound like the real thing for whatever reason (but the electric patches are awesome).

suggestions?

it was hell getting it in there but still not as dreadfull as cutting a hole in the side for an EQ. I bought the seet spot pickup based on it's excellent reviews and price (as i did with the Seagull :). There is no volume control, preamp, batteries etc to worry about. (However a volume would have been nice). I still record with the a mic but i have had several people tell me they think it sound better plugged in with the sweet spot. For live it's a snap!
