patch problem

when I try and upload patches from sound community and guitar 1 site all I get is text,it used to fire x-edit automatically and I was set,now it wont and just shows text of the settings.Anyone else had this problem

Right click the file and choose \"Save Target As\"....

Then open X-Edit and browse to where you save it.
