  • G3456,

Can you please - once more cuz I am slow - explain the difference in the patch collection offered for GNX4 vs. the one for us poor GNX2 users? Stuff like, how many models offered for GNX4 vs. GNX2, or are there any soundquality differences especially since the 4 has some features the 2 doesn't have, prices, etc... you know... that kinda stuff :) If you have a web going into details, pust the link and I'll read up on it.

    Thanks,

    Thomas
  • I take it those are only for the GNX 4 and not the GNX3K.
  • Not yet, he might do them for the GNX3000. Only guitar3456 can answer about that tough...
  • G3456 said he was gonna buy a GNX3K so there is a good chance he wil do some equvialnts of what he did with GNX4
  • He has access to a GNX3000....

But he'll be receiving one soon...

  • I just ordered a GNX3000.
I am very interested in your CD.

    And that's enough sleep.......:-)

I have a 3000 I'm playing with...I CAN DO EEET !! It's a whole different animal so it's gonna take a while. I''ve already started playing with it. The RTA has to be reprogrammed and that will take most of my weekend if I do..but, I need a break..some sleep.. ZZZZZZZZZZ After that I have a demo to take care of next week, so most likely It'll take at least a month or so to resample. The Ultimate Series was 4 mos in the making. Should be a little shorter now that I gained quite a bit of exp with all this stuff.
  • Started the Super Series for GNX3000. Setting up the analyzer edit points is going to take a while. The 3000 edit marks are nowhere near the GNX3,4..of which I've completed. The variable seems to be in the CBM architecture which modifies variables of EQ vs amp model. Seems there is less of a cab variable with the 3k than there is with previous models. The cab models greatly changed EQ editing points in the 4. Hard to say for now why that is. I'll know more once I'm done setting it up.

Yo dude, can you just clarify something for me... with your custom presets have you added anything new to them that isnt available on the GNX's? or are the presets you have created created only by what is avaiable on the unit? All this spectrum analyser stuff is complicated to understand but from what i gather you compare your GNX to the real thing then edit away.
  • Using warp he's able to emulate the amp sounds. There's no hardware/software modifications... The warp feature is powerful, as you can create a bank of coefficients that model a particular amp, just like the bank of coeficients they GNX already have to model the included amps.
  • Are those coefiicients available o us mere mortals? And a map of the ones used to model those in the existing presets. That is, are the warp settings available somewhere for a given warp amount - or is it just done by ear?
  • So - a spectrum analyzer and 5 beta testers, huh?

I guess I'm going to have to spring for the CD...:-)

Best Regards, and I can't wait for the gnx3000 work....

    Chuck

PS I certainly didn't mean to imply your work was a simple matter..... wouldn't want anyone to say playing Flamenco was simply a matter of making the strings vibrate....

The coefficient are stored on the preset itself, look at it in any text editor, and you'll see at the end the GenetX section, and the tag data. Those are the coefficients. They are Base64 encoded. I don't know how they are ordered tough.

Based on the patent of the Warp technique, the modeling in the GeNetX family consists of a 4-band bi-quad filter, a gain filter, a level filter, a spline filter(the distortion part), an a 8-band bi-quad filter. The cabinets are an FIR filter.

Also, as mike said, there are so many warps you can do, is not only a question of amount, you would have to keep record of every warp you do (the two amps and cabinets sources and their warp amount for every warp!!)
Also on X-Edit, you can warp different amounts of amp and cabinet (so it's 2-D).

I have a GNX4, and soon (monday) I'll own a GNX3000. As other owners will atest, his free patches were just the most amazing patches I've every heard. That's why I ordered the ultimate series!! Can't wait for them to get here...
  • Albert - Im curious to know why, if you have a GNX4 and all of G3456's patches, you would want to buy a 3000?
  • Someone mentioned some free sample patches, right? Are they available for download to try before you buy?
  • Yup, go back to the original GNX4 forum community http://www.digitech.com/soundcomm/guitar_product_start.asp?productid=199 and go to the \"members patches\" section at the bottom of the page. G3456 already has 2 presets on the main page, and if you press ctrl+f then type \"guitar3456\" it will scroll down finding all patches posted by him.
  • email me and I can answer any questions regarding..see my signature for links
  • Are you in any way related to Glenn Tipton from Judas Priest?
  • *Jer waits patient;y for g3456's response, as Glenn is a god*
  • No, but it'd be cool !! I've followed Priest for a long time. When Paradox was playing during the early/mid 80's run, many thought we were related..
  • Haha wicked \\m/ But now that i think of it, he is from England.
  • Actually as they were reforming years back, they were in Akron Oh for a while before their big Tim Owens lead role. They picked him up after Halford left. TO was in a great tribute band here! That's how he got his start with them..friend of a friend said, here's your guy!

One of the Guys I worked with in Va Beach, lived right behind Joe Perry growing up in Boston, and has 8mm films of Aerosmith as Kids. I never would have believed it until I saw them. He also had an 8mm of Aerosmith when they rented a hall and invited 4 different HS's in the area to attend. Talk about cool. He gave the films to Joe after he saw him again in Athens Ga. Never know who your neighbors are, or will become!!

    A) Please help me locate the Patent. what is its number ?

    B) I could not find too many free G3456 patches for GNX3000. Besides the few on this site, are they posted elsewhere as well ?
