Does any one know if the RTA mic socket only power feeds when it is in use for the Wizards (ie when the RTA mic button is pushed in)? I was thinking of using it to power a lamp for my desk.
NEVER EVER PLUG A LIGHT INTO ANYTHING THAT WAS NOT DESIGNED FOR THAT PURPOSE! Phantom power is only capable of micro-current.. otherwise, if it was plugged into a mic with a transformer (impedance matching though it is) (like the SM58 for instance) it would instantly SMOKE  the transformer
Well ... that depends entirely on the LED...today's high power one can draw significant power I would not chance it.. I checked with my son on this and he said that total system power on larger consoles runs less than 1 amp total.. again he says it depends on the LEDs and how many there are..
I still do not recommend it without checking with the console manufacturer...
