Powered subwoofer suggestions

Hi guys btw thanks for all the help with my new drive rack got it sounding great
Now the question. Lol
We have 2 peavey pv118 passive subs wit a qsc rmx850
They have done a good job for us for 2 years but now we want more thump
From our double bass drummer. So we are looking at some powered subs
I'm looking at getting 2 of these. Which ones do u recommend

I'm eyeballing
Jbl prx618s-xlf
Jbl Prx618s
Qsc kw181
EV elx118p

Well, the only one I KNOW is the KW181 and it will likely smoke the others, is undoubtedly the most expensive though...The PV series are not even really a sub but more a low mid or low.

2 subs are seldom enough to really get the low end going...even with the KW's.. I used 2 outdoors but added 4 of my own to make it enough...

I think we are gonna go with the EV 118p. 2 of em. I noticed they are not in the drive rack data base. Any suggestions on how to set my crossover for em. And I'm wanting alittle more thump in the chest from my kick drum so I'm hopping these will help cuz the pv118 suck

So we bought 2 EV elx118p powered subs. This should be a major improvement
Over our 2 pv118 Passives.
I see that the EV is not inside the driverack and suggestions on
X over settings.

That would depend on what you have for tops and the power you have to drive them...

I have 2 pv115 with a qsc rmx850 amp for mains

How about, no HPF for the sub, but LR24 @ 118hz for the HPF/LPF for the tops...

I would use a HP filter as those subs do not go down to 20hz anyway you are just wasting amp power trying to drive them at that freq my suggestion would be to find Fs of that driver and cut it there or just do it by ear start at 30hz and go up until you hear it starting to fall and stay there

Those are powered subs, and as such have a built in non defeatable HPF...
