DBX 160 vs. DBX 160x

Hi. I'm looking into buying one or two of the DBX 160 Series. I've tried the 160x, and the 160a, and found that the 160x superior. I've never tried/heard the original 160 model. Is the 160 considered to be the best of the series, or if the 160 and 160x are the same, except for the VU meter being replaced by a LED meter?
