What happens to the dispersion if you take a cab with a 90 x 40 dispersion and place it in a box that is the same size as the cab face width, but say 2 ft deeper (or 3 ft, or 6 ft) so that the walls extend out 2 ft (or 3, or 6ft) beyond the front of the speaker. Can you control directivity in this way? Can you increase throw? 8)

Think of it this way... IF it was a HORN shape that followed the shape of the horn.. yes, greater directionality within the original pattern...BUT a box... think of it this way... fire a pingpong ball at a wall @ 60 degrees, 40 degrees, 90 degrees... and what happens....Imagine a never ending stream of them firing at ALL angles against the walls... now what do you think...yes it would become directionalized but it would be too chaotic...
