PX v PA

edited August 2008 in DriveRack PX
What is the main difference between PA & PX. Of course I know that first is 3x2 and second is 2x2. Why PX is called \"for powered speakers\". Is it only? PA for all purpose and PX only for powered? What is a difference for dbx if amplifier is inside or outside of speaker cabinet? :?:

OK. I found any information on this forum.

There are almost the same. But PX has no delay.
  • When you start digging there is significant difference...
The delay as you have pointed out
    4 outs versus 6
the inputs CAN NOT be unlinked
you can ONLY do 2x2 or 2x4 (or 1x1... with only using one input/output)
the PX does NOT have the trun on/off thump
I believe it sounds quieter than the DRPA

But the 260 blows them both away in EVERY catagory.. and so much more...

    DRA
  • Not to beat a dead horse guys, but if your amps are turned off before you turn off the PX/PA etc. There will be no thump. Likewise if you turn your Driverack on before you turn you amps on, there will be no thump.
BUT: you must let your DriveRack finish loading or completing it's diagnostic before you turn on your amps. If you don't it won't pass a signal and you'll be sitting around wasting valuable setup time wondering whats wrong with your $500.00 piece of gear. So make sure the lights on your PA/PX are through blinking and everything before you turn on your amps.
