EQ with DriveRack PX

I am considering picking up the driverack px to run my jbl powered eon 15\" g2's and jbl powered 18\" subs. I have a separate dbx 20 band eq and wondering if I can run it with the driverack, or if I should take it out and run the driverack without it. Any response would be appreciated.

If you are a DJ, then scrap the EQ. Throw it in a box and ship it tp me for proper disposal. If you are a \"band\", then put it on monitors, a channel insert, ect. The EQ in the PX will be superior. However, it will take some getting used to the digital EQ (scroll, select, adjust). If the 20 band has a bypass, then you could try it inline (pre-PX) to make your quick adjustments, then transfer them to the PX. As soon as you get familiar, pull it all together (and ship it to me ).

PS - Do not buy until you have read every post in the READ ME FIRST section, especially noting everything about Auto-EQ.

We call that the department of redundancy department... The only reason to do it is for quick touchups... but with the driverack, and a properly tuned system that has never been a concern for me...and I'm esentially BLIND :shock: ...especially to those little bitty displays.. :roll: in the dark :evil:
No delay available, no separating the EQ it's all tied together.. but it will still make a big difference...'

If I run with the PX EQ only, then should I set the 3 band EQ knobs on my mixer to zero?

Typically, yes. The 3 band on the mixer can be preferred to a GEQ for smoother tonal response changes (in general and after \"flattening\" the system as described).

Using the sub output for the 718 (c/o 120 Hz) and the 635 for the tops and 612 for fill, will it work to run the 612 out of the 635?

If I were in your shoes (adding fills, center or outer), I would opt for a DRPA+ or 260. Either (depending on config needs) would allow separate PEQ for the mains and for the fills, even separate GEQ for feedback control. If monies are availble, that would be a benefit, and if a return is posible.
