DRPA Firmware Upgrade

Ive often wondered why only the higher end Driverack series have Firmware upgrades. I suppose its because its the higher end series. LOL.

I find that a bit, disturbing. Any thoughts?

  • Well since the DRPA is now over 10 years old, and was the only digital processor under $3000.. and it was a pioneer and was built to meet a price point (entry level) I think they did pretty well.. still holding it's own with a huge influx of new products... still the only one in it's class that has ALL the bells and whistles...still does what it was designed for.. I don't know...

  • One can assume its because they have decided to put all of their effort on the upper level series. Its too bad, as many folks dont have the funds for a 260. Its of my opinion, such as it is, that the DRPA could be upgraded as well to fix or enhance features. Of course, I do like the DRPA; even though its been quite a learning curve.
I still struggle through compression and limiting functions..as I have blown a diaphram out of a JBL MRX515.
  • Compression could be cause of it, if you are adding gain when it is not compressing. In other words... all hot, all the time.
Have you read the READ ME FIRST section?

  • If I were able to post at all the last week I would have responded that you are talking about a platform that is way over 10 years old... was meant as an entry level processor, and if you added those features(which the 260 doesn't even have) the cost would be much higher...

This was never meant to be up-grade able..

  • i was thinking that the other day as i was setting up my new rig(MRX525's with a XTi 4000, and two MRX528S powered by two XTi2000's) and noticed that my new equipment isn't in the wizard but it is included with the new 2.0 software. It would be nice if they could include a USB port for HiQ net on the DRPA like the XTi series amps.
