RS-232 to XLR

I am wanting to put RS-232 over a single XLR....

I have done this in the past and I think that the three cable colors I needed was Black, Orange, Yellow.

Anyone else done this?

D-Sub to XLR
Pin 2 -> Pin 2
Pin 3 -> Pin 3
Pin 5 -> Pin 1 (ground)

Cable to XLR
YEL -> Pin 2
ORG -> Pin 3
BLK -> Pin 1 (ground)
