NFC authentication using phones

I was all excited about using clients phones with NFC to authenticate them with the x series panels and then I tried it with a Samsung Nexus and found that the phone has a constantly changing UID.
Has anyone investigated how to authenticate a phone or have any knowledge of how I could take the UID and pass it to a third party authentication system that returns a constant value which I can use to figure out whos phone just touched the panel?
Googling it returns an overwhelming mixture of jibberish that makes my head hurt.

I have a lot of different NFC tags on my desk. They all have a unique UID, which never changes.
I don't think your UID can change, it should a unique number, just like a MAC address..
