Feedback about use of Rotel Multimedia Player RDG-1520

I'm looking for user feedback about RDG-1520 from Rotel. Pros/Cons compared to open source solution such as Slimbox ?

With the new firmware released in January of this year (2012), integration should be much easier.

However, the box doesn't do a lot for the $999 MSRP and has no onboard storage.

A Vortexbox is a better solution with many more services at less than half the price. But your customer may prefer a ROTEL for emotional reasons.
