Camera DVR Control

Anyone have success controlling a Panasonic DVR recently. Panasonic's new WJ-HD616 doesn't have a 232 port and I need to get control of it and/or the WJ-SX650 Matrix Siwtcher. There are about 60 cameras and we need to be able to bring up any combination of cameras in the multi-screen view and send to the (5) 17 TP's on the project.

I guess there are other options - control through the 485 bus or ethernet control. Any help appreciated and possibly willing to outsource this portion of the job to someone interested.
