Device status on Novara CP-3000-series buttons

It should be simpler to figure this out-but can I monitor status of a device and indicate that on the ControlPad buttons, or are the status commands I see mentioned in the manual for use with RMS only?
The only reference I see to button feedback deals with press/release.
