RS232 Feedback - Newbie

Just getting into RS-232 with a Denon receiver and have found everything to be responsive. Currently I have two separate buttons for POWER (On & Off). I would like to have one power button and have it change state depending on whether it is ON (Green) or OFF (Red). How would I accomplish that?

You would need to parse the feedback from the receiver's data event. Are you using a module, or did you write your own?

I'm sorry I really am a newbie I have been using button_events with a send_string. I have not tried parsing and not exactly sure where to begin.
