MVP Front Status LED

By default in the latest firmware, the LED on the front of the MVP series panels and on the side where the stylus is are have a channel set to the Setup port with the description "Front Status LED" for the channel. The documentation for the MVP's says these lights flash when the panel is booting up and light solid when the panel is "working properly." This is clearly no longer the full description. They do, in fact, flash on bootup, but they seem to turn off when the panel is asleep or not connected to the master. Is there an official full description of the updated behavior? I can't find it in any tech notes, nor in Software History.
