The older versions of the PLB-AS16 had a db9 connector on them. Is anyone aware if this was a usable rs232 port for control? If so is there any protocol manual still available?

I do believe that if you have an AS16 with a 232 port, you will open it to find it not connected to anything. It has been awhile, but I think this was the case. No protocol I have ever seen...

There is a module from AMX that will let you control the unit via the ICSNet port. I have used it a couple of times.

Dittos on the module. I have 6 instances of it and it works great. The unit is fairly fast and responsive too.
Also, it sounds pretty good.
