User Interface Element Issues. Another question to test the professionals!

In Visual Architect, when I add a device, lets say for example an iLight generic dimmer; why does VA panel builder treat it like a placeholder when it has a device template. (i.e. "Lighting" which was specified in the CSD window)
It means that when I go to customise my user interface, I have a blank page. With no UI-Element options in the right hand window, I cant add buttons, so I cant access my Control Strings that I programmed to the buttons in Code Builder.
Is there any way to manually apply elements? Or should I just pick a different device type that I know will populate this window properly and then change the text on the buttons?
Any ideas would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Sorted.
Found the setting to change the page's template model.
