NI-700 ? What is max length of SEND_STRING to COMs?

According to TN156 the max length of a SEND_STRING to NXC-COM2 and NXI Comm ports is 900 bytes. The NI-700 is not listed; however with the testing I?ve done it looks like the max is 392 bytes at a time. Can anyone confirm if this limitation is correct?
