VPT-CP firmware v5.01m and TPDesign3

Is this firmware compatible with TPDesign3? I can't seem to get a serial connection to work.

9 times out of 10 I couldn't (past tense as I now tell people when they ring up that they are 'no longer supported' ) connect was because I was have a brain fade and didn't use my crossover cable.

I made my own cable from http://www.amxforums.com/showthread.php?t=2126&highlight=vpt-cp
However, the following is for a straight through cable, not for use with a crossover:

2 - tip
3 - ring
5 - sleeve.

If you use this configuration, you don't need a crossover cable.

I hope this helps anyone in the future who has to make their own cable. Parts from Radio Shack listed below
