The raid system indicates that a disk is dead in the array. Any helpful hints on what to do? Should I place in a new identical drive and rebuild the array?

Essentially, yes, but there is a procedure to remove the old drive before replacing it. It's all in the menus, though you may want someone at AMX to walk you through it just to be safe. There is a possibility as well that you need a specific drive from AMX to replace it.
