MVP 8400 failure?

Hi all,
We have an MVP 8400 (not an i) and it is brand new. It has been turned on to show the client, then stuck back into the box until I got to site to code it.
Took it out of said box and touched the screen.
It flashes, goes black for a few seconds and then goes full white.
That's it. Game over. Blue LED on top right, full white screen. Nothing else. Can't force setup pages etc etc.
I wonder if anyone has seen this or if it is symptomatic of a CF failure or something else very special.

I've seen that happen as well. I removed the batteries and then put them back in. It came back up fine. It has not happened again, although it does hang during a reboot going from USB to Ethernet.
