IR receivers, Plasma Proof

Are AMX's IR receivers just a repeater that strips the IR carrier, or how does that work? I'm in a situation where the new PlasmaProof IR receiver would be an excellent solution as a simple repeater for an infrared mouse that the customer really likes -- and that the Plasma interferes with.

I'd like to place the AMX receiver adjacent to the plasma, and hook up an IR emitter to it in a closed cabinet where the mouse receiver won't have any interference.
