IR port not working?

Gentlemen,
I have an Axcent 3 Pro hooked into an NI2000 as a slave. Everything seems to be fine with the Axcent 3 Pro except for the IR ports. I loaded IR files from IR Edit and nothing. Lights come on showing activity but no IR coming out. I was told that i could clear the old IR files in the Axcent by loading a blank IR file but when i do this windows shows an "error" and IR Edit has to shut down. When i try the IR ports on the NI 2000 everything is fine. I have updated the firmware (i think i did it right) on the Axcent. Any ideas?
