RS-232 via IR port

Hi everyone
Just a question about sending an RS-232 command via an IR port on a NI series master. I know that I have to turn the carrier off but when I want to send the command do I use the 'send_string' or some other command for the string to be sent?

It would be SEND_STRING, but I thought Guy M. already told us that DATA mode isn't available on the NI series IR ports... Just the Axcent3, NXI and AXB-IRS4.

The AXB-IRS4 is NOT cabable to operate as one way RS232!
