Yup, I'm still hangin' around...Shania continues to ignore me, and my efforts to hook up with Anne Hathaway to make her jealous have not exactly happened either. So, I still pretend to play guitar and lust for drunken hotties at open mic every week... :P
See what 2014 brings!

yar, sez aye… this was me last Christmas, spending some time in me vacation cottage on the lake… arrh
aye m8… nice brown, 16 pounder me thinks
found it at a garage sale for $5
1965 Epiphone FT 45N Cortez flattop, straight neck, very nice condition
it has the pegs off, as I was cleaning it nice, and put on new strings
it needs a new set of tuners, but that's it. Action is nice, frets all nice
that's a real tortoise shell pick guard, back then you got that even on an epiphone, as this was made in Kalamazoo, Mi.
That there fish and I'm sure there were more would have made chef Louise happy! (My better half) she does wonderous stuff with trout. was a trout .. eh? have to look at the pic again.. argh
Nice find for $5, Not that i hit up sales on a regular basis I try to keep my eye out.. A few wks ago was pulling out of this lot and there was a garage sALE across the street, I paused and pondered for a moment, then the ole lady spurts out don't even think about it! I'm like what? she's like I see that guitar! ... So have you stringed it yet?!

Garrh harrh yarrhh har-harrr… that be a brown trout, and this be a 6 lb. rainbow trout sez aye…
and some perch and whitefish
some 38\" pikes
some large mouths 8)
and even bigger pike, (42\") came after this miller lure :P
a bucket master angler (10+ inches) size blue gills
I know you like to fish too.
I'm mostly going after small mouths and walleye right now. The walleye action has been really good this year. At times I've run out of bait, and had teeth marks on the side of my boat.
I may try deep water trolling too, after salmon and lake trout, but I've had zero luck on them so far.
…. so I mounted this big cannon on me boat, Garrrh n' I'm using a 12 lb. ball.
aye m8
I don't care to fish much during July and August, because of all the tourists.
The game fish are deeper, and harder to catch as well. I should target pan fish and fill my freezer, and I promised myself I would use that logic this year, but so far my excuse is, it's too much work.
I thought retirement was going to be easy. :P
I haven't been up north salmon hunting in decades.... But no doubt that smoker has to bring the mojo... that stuff is awesome smoked up all proper like!!
(swagger-swagger-stumble)
(leans in…. stinks of fish)
I like to smoke whitefish and brown trout too, but you are right, nothing beats smoked salmon… especially the King salmon or Chinook.
My best chances for trout or salmon, is when they run the rivers, and I can catch them on light tackle.
whitefish are easiest to catch on the ice. rest of the year it's not easy to get them. Now and then you will get some big ones, like 6 pounders, if you can get smelt, that is the best bait for the big ones.
