Fun with an echo
Anyone still live here? Every time I drop in nothing has changed, not even any new music. I finally picked up a guitar in front of a DAW.
Only When it Rains
I was sitting around last Sat messing with an idea for a song. It was made up of practice riffs I use to keep my fingers limber from Arthritis since I have about 7 kinds of it. I was going to make an instrumental out of them, but a pattern kept bugging me for lyrics, so I wrote them. I laid down the track and it pretty much sucked. Then I made a clone of the lead track and chopped it up into sections. I added echo to one part, and reverb to the other on the cloned track. No overdubs as it was recorded straight through, which accounts for the bad notes... or \"Jazz licks”.

At least it got me in front of my DAW for a change. I needed that. Since I was inspired I sat down at my DAW the next day. When I hit the first notes of another song fingernails flew across the room like popcorn so much for that.

At least you're still here. Thanks for the listen. I have been here to read posts quite often, but seldom find any. On some other forums almost all the long time posters have faded away ... Some to the great forum in the sky, I imagine. Nice to see you are still around.
cya!
I went to your Soundclick site and my stinking Fred Flintstone hand me down computer wouldn't let me play anything. Actually I recall that I had to have someone check to see if my MP3 loaded. I know... why not get another OS? Perhaps something for a lot of money that will be obsolete in a couple of years!! \"That's the ticket\" ..... or so John used to say.
Nice to see you back around.
Love your sparkling clean Strat tones. Nice!
WOW You're here too? That makes three of us. I thought this site had graduated into a private 2's company 3's a crowd status until you posted.
Now we're really bringing this place to life again.
By the way, this was recorded on a sound blaster live ( An old one that was a computer pull that I bought for $5.00) Recording medium was a P4 3.0 with Sonar 4 using a Zoom G2 for a preamp. I recorded it without echo and added that as an afterthought later on by cloning the track and dragging it back on another track. I had the TV blaring in the background so I had to cut all the spaces in between the vocals. Only the finest recording procedures used at my house.
