Thinking about retiring my GNX4
Hey guys, if anyone is still out there, I am thinking about retiring my GNX4 from stage use while it is still working, and picking up an inexpensive bass effects pedal for our gigs. My GNX4 and I have been gigging on stage for about 5 years now, and it has never let me down. But I would be heartbroken if my GNX4 was damaged on stage, especially now that I am in a financial position to replace it.
Anybody out there have suggestions for bass pedals that would work for my modest needs in a rock and roll cover band? I don't have much call for anything other than a simple effect to cover something like the Ampeg SVT bass sound - my favorite. All our pedals need a direct XLR out to the soundboard.
Sure do miss the days when I used to look forward to coming home and checking into the GNX4 forum to read all the new posts.... Best wishes to anyone still here.

I can totally relate to wanting to preserve your GNX...in fact, I own a second one I picked up on ebay for not too much, in great shape, so that if anything ever happens to my main unit, I could still have one. I think it's a marvelous device and I could surely get used to using something else...I just don't WANT to!
Zoom has a few multi's for bass too.
My band is in some serious restructuring, and I don't want to put much money into a very uncertain future. But I would like to protect my GNX4 while it still works like new.
My heart still breaks when I think about how Digitech left the workstation concept. So I have no particular loyalty in any brand pedal. Oh well, I eventually had to give up on my Commodore 64 and move on to other computers. I guess I'll survive the abandonment of my GNX4, too. Unfortunately, there is just not anything out there that excites me like the GNX4 did back in its day.
Best wishes.
Ain't that the truth!
