anybody using a jamman

i have having problems getting any sound out of it.. need some help

Even if nobody is using a Jamman, your post lacks the most basic information needed for troubleshooting:
Have you established the source of the problem? Is it the input that's not being captured by the Jamman, or the output not out-putting the signal?
If it's the input, have you checked your guitar, amp, and cables?
Can you hear it through headphones?
If not, can you hear anything else from the same headphones? Do the headphones work?
What is the output setting on the Jamman, and is it sending to your target system?
I'm not familiar with the Jamman... but, is anything else able to play through to make sound? Like built-in drum machine or something.
Look at the signal chain in the manual and see if you can insert something just before the end of it, and see whether that makes any difference.
Just saying, do some of your own testing. Don't just ask a broad question like that and make us guess.

I would say you need to hit the [Rec Mode] button until the Inst/Mic lights up
