GNX4 THRU AN AMP

HEY, I been reading ppl are having a problem getting their gnx4 to sound good thru an amp??? i run mine thru a randall rg 100 at home and a crate blue voodoo live and it sound amazing. (not really crappy and i dont know the difference) it took some tweaking but it sound as good or better (the fx are really nice) that anything i ever heard. i got the supermodels and all i did was take off all their fx they have, add the delay the way i like it (normal) and punched save and all the distored, messy sounding, double amp/cab stuff had went away and monster sounds started coming out. i have seen no one on you tube even come close to what i got going. is there ANYONE ELSE THAT KNOWS ABOUT THIS??? theres gotta be??? BTW, i used both eq's the gnx has. i didnt disable them nor did i go direct with anything. i tried all that and it sucked. something happened when i pushed save. i'm telling u it sounds like a killer modded amp head way better than a blue doodoo ever sounded in its life!!!!!

  • Kind of a silly question... yes, there are issues with running through an amp, and there are ways to resolve them and make it sound good. Also, what's \"good\" to one person may not be enough to the next, a lot of it is subjective. And I wouldn't expect top sound quality on YouTube, either.

Congratulations on finding your sound, you're well on your way!
  • I find the GNX's work great on amps when the Left(mono) output is run into the amps [INSERT] so you bypass the amps natural sound, and the models sounds really good.

I think you can use a standard guitar cord, but just to be safe I use the special Y cord, well I actually use a 1/4\" stereo to RCA left/right and patch it into the insert..

it basicly turns your amp into a PA, and you get a true amp modeler..
even the factory presets sound good on my half stack..

use the leval dial on the back of the GNX for volume...

By the way, you more then likely changed the speaker compensation.
