Pop song I made

Hey guys 8)

Long time no see. How are ya?

Anyways I have this pop song I made. I'm still trying to work on the mix but give it a listen.

There's 2 versions of the song an acoustic and electric so give both a listen.

Any feedback would be appreciated

I listenened to both versions and I think it works better as an accoustic song. I went back to Sound Click and saw your full on version was a top 100 so what do I know. I do feel there are some timing issues that could be addressed as well as some pitch problems I hear in the vocals, but over all I like the tonal sound of your voice. So keep working on that.
For the accoustic version to work better I think the guitar needs to have more of a presents in the mix, and cut down on the vocals to get them to blend better. Just my 2 cents. But stay active, I like where you are going.

Vocals are way too high on the electric version. It doesn't sit in the mix at all, probably needs some EQ as well. You might even consider turning it down on the acoustic, or (more likely) turning the guitar up.

I'm not much of an acoustic fan, but it works pretty well for this particular song. There are a few slight pitch issues, but fixing the mix will make that less noticeable. Plus, given that it's pretty much accurate with a few pitchy places, you could apply pitch correction transparently and get it near perfect.

Overall, it's a cool song. I prefer the electric version (again, biased), and I like the small intricacies in the guitar parts - it keeps things interesting. I just wish I could hear it better.

I think the acoustic works better because the vocals dont seem to fit the song in the electric version. The vocals are busy and the guitar parts are also busy, thus they clash.

Hey guys thanks for the feedback.

After a few weeks away from the song and listening to it with fresh ears I hear what you guys are saying about the vocals being way to high on the mix. That and I wish I went with a different tone on the guitar especially the solo.

Its been really interesting discovering how hard it is to get a mix just right. Really gotta tip my hat to the guys that can do this well.

Oh and a side note thats not me singing thats my friend and considering she did it in a one take i think she did alright.
