Posted a POLYTONE GNX3000 patch for all the closet jazzers
I'm sort of psyched about this GNX3000 because it is the first amp modeler that I've owned that has been able to recreate the polytone sound. These are well known to straight ahead jazz guitarists and bassists and many famous jazz artists have used them: George Benson, Jim Hall, Herb Ellis, Joe Pass, etc...and even Pat Metheny's stripped down trio sound is reminiscent of this amp. Its just a small, solid-state, closed-back cab amplifier that produces a warm, mellow sort of clean tone like no other amplifier out there. They're still made today by the same family from what I've heard. The GNX's ability to tune a bass cab is what seemed to be the feature that enabled it to really nail this tone. Anyway, any of you jazzheads out there want to give it a spin, leave me some comments even if you hate it,...just want to know that other people have besides me have been jonesing for some of this new digital modeling technology to give them a virtual polytone. Oh yeah, I have owned the Pod and V-amp Pro and never could get it quite right for the polytone, always either a compressed harsh attack (pod) or the open-back cab sound of the v-amp's models....even downloaded other people's attempts and was never satisfied....thanks,
Also, I posted a clip of me butchering a phrase of \"Beautiful Love\" there...be kind.

It's Killer too and I listened to your patch and my man you nailed that sucker big time , I am truly impressed . I am going to try and tweak me one now
Question - What was the cabinet of choice and amp head ?
Thanks for posting this because it still gives credence that the GNX4 is second to none .
Check out the youtube link it is of a Polytone just like mine .
Mine is a hybrid as far as having three channels instead of one or two . Each channel has 3 EQs Bright - Normal- and Dark and a real Hammond B3 reverb spring . The reverb is classic 50s / 60s wet as surfer's board Fender style . I love it , I wish I had another one to run it in stereo
It's light as a feather too .
This unit has a master reverb volume - room bass EQ too as well to further enhance this suckers powers and as I said you really nailed down the Polytone sound .
These bad boys usually are sold used for anywhere from $400.00 for the one George Benson uses an new one is in the $700.00 range and only has two channels so George - - mine is bigger than yours heh heh heh heh .
Oh and did I mention it I found mine used at a thrift store and walked away with it for only $14.00 . It came with two cabs , each one with a single 8\" and 10\" driver . In Mint condition , man was I happy .
Easy man :
