I played a song!!! 8^D

Hey all...those of you following my riveting life know that things haven't been so good-ish and I haven't had my git'rs or my studio gear in my possesion for nearly a year. So when I got my hands on it all, I was so excited I was like Martini when he got the boat ride in \"Cuckoo's Nest\". :oops:

Anyway...I noodled for a couple of days to remember which string played which notes...and once I remembered where to plug in the cable (OK...I remember TO plug in the cable... :oops: ), I got my hands on a neat git'r riff Judaskiss had done. So I put it on the ol' Tascam, and played around with it a while. There's no vox - y'all know I can't sing worth a dam or write lyrics to save my life - so there's a lot of sounds and fills going on. But hopefully there's some glimmer of creativity in there somewhere...I'd hate to think that my skills are gone for good and I'll need to join a knitting circle... :?

    Speaking of Shania. Thought I had seen a commercial, that she is going to be on Idol this week...

    ....And I just had another thought.. perhaps if we went north an became Canadian citizens, then we can come back to the states and get a job acting in an American television show!? As it seems all the actors anymore are from Canada,UK or down under.... Anything for a job .. eh?

    Thanks for all the kudos everybody. Shredd and I will brush off the crustys and shape it up lil bit more. It was definitely fun doing this and look forward to doing more if Shredd is up to it.

    Rawb, its funny about the Rush thing(or as we all now know it-nort of the 49th parallel) As my wife and we're listening to it--I said \"Shredd definitely has Rush influence.\"

    Thanks for listening 'buzz. Glad you liked it. Yeah...it seems the RUSH influence works its way intomost of what I do. Can't help it. Those guyz rewl. 8)

    But yeah, it really really is nice to have my hands on my gear again. I'm pretty rusty, but even if my skills are rusty, the great feeling it gives is still there ( \"Lovin' it...\" - from Blessing's \"Hurricane Room\"...). Almost makes up for the anguish of being constantly dismissed by Shania.

    For all you manic shredd-fans :roll: - I remixed this tune to clean up some of the sloppy stuff I didn't bother with at first effort (I did the whole thing in about 2 hours...). Hopefully the new version is a little cleaner...

    Plus, I've been calling it \"Into The Light\", when apparently my original intent was to call it \"Toward The Light\"...so I changed it back. Think Shania will call me now???

    I don't post more 'cuz I'm still stuck in a tortuous limbo that doesn't allow me to set up my studio. All I have at the moment is my ac/elec, and I'm basically just doing open mic's in hopes that Shania will walk in one day and finally admit to herself how much she adores me. :roll:
    Um...anyway...yeah. I'm definitely up for collab's, I really enjoy doing them. I'll be posting, trolling for collabs, when I have my studio in place again...
