Convert rp250p to rp255p?

I just bought an rp255. There are several rp250 patches that I'd like to check out, but I am unable to open them using X-edit. I notice the files are XML-like. Will switching the tags from 250 to 255 work? Is there some easier/better way to convert patches or enable X-edit to open rp250 patches and ship them to my rp255?

Just guessing, but this will probably work:

<RP250Preset>

change to

<RP255Preset>

At the end of the file, change:

</RP250Preset>

to

</RP255Preset>

and change the file extension to .rp255p

Post back whether it works or not.

Yep, slight pain for multiple files, but that's all that was necessary.

Now if I could just figure out how to get right of the feedback when monitoring tracks through Cubase (even though the digitech write up tells me not to monitor), I'll be a happy camper. <EDIT> Figured this out too. Happy camper.

i want some pathces to convert as well. but i dont get the instructions very well, m new to digitech ... will you please tell me in detail , how to change the extention according to my processor model ??? suppose from Rp250 to Rp155 ? thnx

there are some programs out there where you can search and replace strings of text so you can rename multiple files at the same time. The one I prefer is TextPad. You can open a bunch of patch files, then do a search & replace and change the model number (RP250 to RP255). I imagine there are programs that let you change file extensions too but I don't know of any at the moment.

For multiple files, get Notepad++, which has a feature to \"Replace all in all open files\".

On the website there only few preset. Where did you find your RP250 one ?
