  • I'm not gonna run through a list but here is one that is virtually never heard:
    Cross Eyed Mary>Iron Maiden.

You can find it at http://listen.grooveshark.com .You have to search it as Cross Eyed Mary Iron Maiden because for whatever reason it
doesn't show up under just the title or artist search.

I never signed up as a member there,I just go there to try to find songs that I haven't heard for a long time. The sound quality on most
of the songs surprisingly good, not that tinny sound you hear on other sites.

Another song that you can check out is Squirrels by the Beastly Boys. It's a parody of the Beastie Boys Girls.
    Anyways,great site.

  • Click on the Johnny Smith link at the bottom of my replies..
  • Santana's version of \"Black Magic Woman \"
    Richard Thompson's version of \"Oops I did It Again\"
  • Kutless version of We Fall Down 8)
  • Holy Diver - Kill Switch Engage?

Many younger players think these are originals from that band and not covers themselves. I'm not saying that's true with you, but it's a shame that so many guitarist play a song that itself is a cover, but never realize that it was done many years earlier, and in many cases much better by the original artist.
  • I acually made a CD about a year ago with famous artists doing cover songs. Its in my car, but I think I can remember whats on it.

Diamonds and Rust-Judas Priest(Rising in The East DVD is my fav version)
    Johnny B. Goode-Judas Priest
    Green Manalishi-Judas Priest
    Land of Confusion-Disturbed
You Really Got Me-Van Halen(who can forget one the most famous covers)
    Rocky Mountain Way-Ozzy Osbourne
    Immegrant Song-Great White
    Burn-Whitesnake
    ComeTogether-Aerosmith
    Baby Please Don't Go-Ted Nugent

Theres more, but I have Old Timers Disease and thats all I can remember for now.
  • Land of Confusion-Disturbed

One of the best covers of all time
    Burn-Whitesnake

I don't think that really counts as a cover since Coverdale did the original with Deep Purple. Can someone do a cover of himself? IDK
  • Land of Confusion- Disturbed
Tie Your Mother Down- Lynch Mob
    Live & Let Die- GnR
    Hocus Pocus- Gary Hoey
    American Woman- Lenny Kravitz

just a few that come to mind, for now... 8)

I thought somebody might catch me on that, but keep in mind its not Richie Blackmore on guitar-Reb Beach and Doug Aldrich had more of that 80's hairband shred guitar sound. It was a little different...right? Its always been one of my favorite songs to play on guitar.

What was there to catch? I thought you called it right the first time..

You can call it an alternate version... Like is an alternate take a cover? LoL Lou Reed.... Look at how many versions of Sweet Jane since the original with VU he did. Were all those just covers or version?

    Splitting hairs?
