HELP!!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!! Digtech 1101
I feel so stupid man... jeez....
The problem is \"I found my guitar sound\" long ago...
Ive been using an original old Gsp21 for 20 years (I use a tube preamp along with it) and I have no complaints and I earn a living and get complements all the time about my guitar tone..
But the GSP21 is just too old now.. its taken too many bumps on the road, been repaired too many times etc \"its life span is ending\"... and must be replaced... so now I bought a 1101 rack mount and am ready to intergrate it into my system...
the 1101 sounded great on the internet demonstrations but didnt sound the same when I played it live.... in fact it sounded \"terrible\"...
Anyway I comunucated with some nice people online who sent me some patches but they were in zip files which I cant open...
I tried to open and install the CD which can with the 1101 but my computer can not open it...
So now I have a list of stupid questions which I hope some fellow musicians can help me with....
a) What program must be installed in my computer so that I can download and save patches for my 1101? . Is it this library X software? If so where can I download this online? Is that what was on the CD that came with the 1101 which I couldnt open?
b) Can some one just give me a very simple ABC's of what I am to do?
c) Now I will plug in my preamp ( JMP1) into the loop of the 1001 and probably go into stressland....
this new 1101 is foriegn to me, I dont have a clue here , I feel terrible , I am about to probably do something wrong and start a fire

Comments
I thşnk I'm on the right couse lets see how this turn out... if I dont post in 24 hours that means I blew up my house
Seems that it would be much easier to edit the unit using the mouse and the X edit beta...
now I need a few \"good\" patches to get me started...
how do I down load a patch?
For where?
how do I tranfer it to my 1101?
Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cant get the 1101 to download presets using x-Editor 2
double checked everything, got bothe ediors one and two in there.. using the second one.. got all the software... it will not open open and load patch flies I have loaded...
It post this reason in a little window why it wont load...
\"parameter with address ID 0 WahMin_1_99, position=3 is not in the collection\"
can some one tell me what the heck that means?
Obviously these series of units still has some software glitches in it..
Well I am a guitarist thats not my hobby but my profession...
Everytime I play anyware everyone gives me complements about my tone... and I a use an old gsp21 an tube preamp and tube power... I also use a old digitech 1sp33b harmonizer for soft detuning to fatten up the sound...
Im telling you honesty it sounds better than this new 1101...
So I will buy a few old used gsp21 units on the net as spares and continue sounding great... because I dont want to sit infront of a computer all feeling stressed out not playing music and downloading this and that and having it all crash and scramble...
So I have decided to bring my 1101 back to the store and get a refund because frankly for all the trouble of setting this 1101 up my old rig \"sounds ten times better\"...
So I actually this whole high tech stuff is more geared to be the latest and greatest gear around etc.. it caters to younger potato heads who spend 7 hours a day on the net anyway, instead of practicing their technique on the guitar...
This whole digital guitar hero world is modeling itself into a cyber black hole of computer geeks... to be honest with ya Im not bad with computers but this 1101 and its 500 different skitzo software versions that \"dont work\" have eroded my enthsiasm...
Im gonna crank up my old rig and play a little guitar...
Tired of fooling around with software...
This 1101 sounds \"not good enough\" to warrent me spending 12 hours trying to download some decent presets off the net...
So I am back to using my 20 year old gsp21 and my tubes..
Im on youtube google up \"Awesome John\" and listen...
I want to enjoy playing guitar not getting stressed out with software..
So F*#k This Sh*t :?
Oh buy the way thanks for all your help
