What's On Your Christmas Wish List? Holiday Wishes.

Just wondering what you guys have on your Christmas wish lists this year? We are tightening the belts at my house this season, so nothing very exciting to talk about. Hoping you guys have some good stuff to talk about so I can at least feel excited for you. Our current budget has pretty much deGAS'd me this year. But it's OK. The wife and I plan to spend more time with family and less time shopping for family. Might just be the best Christmas season ever....

Wishing all you guys a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

  • Same Boat Taus! Actually it's not too bad though. You appreciate other things like spending time with family can make it more fun. Had a rough year but overall ok. I just hope I don't have to travel as much in '10.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year to all !
  • Yeah bout the same here as well. Kiddos will make out O.K. BUT i agree just looking forward to time with family, friends this Christmas Season 8) The Lord Bless you all with a great & safe Christmas & New Years! :D
  • Agree 100% with 'Taus, have a happy Holiday Season everyone !
  • I love it that 'taus, and lots of others, are getting out of the typical Christmas flail and enjoying a simple family holiday. I mean, c'mon. Felt antlers for dogs???
Myself, I'll be spending the holiday trying to count my blessings, which have been dramatically reduced this year. But at least i'm alive and reasonably well and not eating out of a dumpster.
But it sure would be nice to hear back from Shania... 8)

When I was in the Navy, many years ago, one day my ship was docked in the Philippines for resupply. I was Officer of the Deck standing watch early in the morning. After breakfast, our mess cooks took out the trash from the mess hall and threw it into the dumpsters on the dock. I watched about a dozen Philippinos litterally jump into the dumpster and come out with half eaten doughnuts dripping with egg remains, and it was like the best thing for them ever. They ate those soggy, nasty looking doughnut remains like they were fresh from the bakery. Nearly broke my heart to see such desperation. I have never forgotten that morning, and no matter what personal challenges I have had in my life, I've never been in that condition and have never forgotten how tough it can be for some people in the world.

It's been a tough year financially, but we are still counting our blessings in my house. Best wishes.

    A winning lottery number!
took out the trash ..... and threw it into the dumpsters on the dock.

:lol::lol: Them dumpster sides were 8ft high! I watch 'em heave the trash up an over then hear ouch aarrgghh cussing in Tagalog! They were in them all the time :lol: But go out in town them LBFM's knew more about the fleets movement than CinPac! Alot of info in them dumpsters!

What I detested was the guys who would throw a paso to the bonka kids on sh1t river an miss them on purpose.. And that was just wrong! Them kids would dive in an come up with that paso!  For you's that don't know sh1t river was literally a river of raw sewage!

So yes count your blessings this Christmas and everyday! Current admin. has their way it could be your kids, grandkids on your cities river someday!

    Merry Christmas everyone!

Thanks for the visual 'taus. But yeah, that's what i'm talking about - times are dire for me, but I'm not eating out of dumpsters at the dock. No matter how bad things seem, it can always be worse, and you must bear in mind how worse it can be, 'cuz it makes you thankful for what you've got. Good post, 'taus...now have Shania call me already, will ya?!? :D
