2120: I need some guiding
Hello,
I know, this is not a General discussion matter, but the 2120 has been dead for so long it doesn't have its own section anymore, right?
Well, I haven't been playing for a very long time and now that want to go back to it I find myself completely puzzled by my own gear. Can you believe that?
Anyhow, I have a 2120 and it is loaded with default settings and programs.
The thing is all the programs loaded sound very \"noisy\" to me now.
I am more into progressive rock, jazz, and other quiet stuff.
And what is loaded is pretty hard on my ears.
So I would like to know if there are some other programs available on the net that I could load instead of fiddling with the present ones.
And of course I don't have a clue as to how to load them, so a hint or two won't hurt.

Have you updated?
These have allot of parameters to adjust. Check your noise gate settings. Any help?

I upgraded from 2112 to 2120 with an EPROM, and it was version 2.10 indeed.
What I think I need most at the moment is some explanation about the patches available on the net.
Terms such as sysex and rpedit.
How can I connect a laptop to the 2120 in order to upload patches.
Those kind of things.
Can you help?
From what I gather, you download directly into the processor via midi connections between the unit and your computer using the RPedit software.
I think you need a MIDI interface.

Yep. It did help.
I installed RPedit on my Win7 laptop. It works.
I also purchased a USB-to-MIDI cable interface from eBay. Waiting.
Now, all that's left to do is to get som good patches from the net with good sound presets. Any more good links?
