Guitar Workstation Forums ...on the block?

Now with the end of guitar workstations, will they start a new forums, or upgrade this one? This phpBB is old forum technology, and our role here is fading with the end of the old GNX4 warhorse. The discontinued products will still need support, but this place already is like a dank dungeon with a dripping faucet.

I would like to see us given forum expansion into all the Digitech product line, and a migration to a spiffy new V.Bulletin forum software. :P

I'd also like to bring up my suggestion for member beta testing, on the new products.

And also, you'll notice that the new RP pedals, GSP, and the vocal effects are back on the old forums. So I don't know - nobody has told me anything in this regard.

Problems with migration (and initial choice of boardware) is the backend. I forget exactly what the issues were, but they all go back to restrictions from Harman's IT department placed on the web team.

I would hope that these forums at least be saved for posterity. There's a lot of good information here.

\"Invaluable\" to the GNX user...so, just in case, I'll be copying, saving and printing quite a bit of the information found here. Me thinks everyone better get all the user and magazine patches for personal archive. My working manual is a sleeved copy in a 3 ring heavy binder, keeping my original as new. Gonna head to Staples for some more supplies and get busy over the next weeks.

I hope Digitech takes notice and either gives plenty of warning if it's their intent to make any major decisions on this forum, and possibly consider a responsible transfer of this body of work to someone capable of it's care.

I'll agree, and add my vote. It'd be my hope that this forum would stay online for reference if nothing else, unless there was some way to keep it active. I know there's lots of pups that'll jump on the RP's or whatever else comes out, but there's a very hard core of GNX devotees like myself that'll keep our existing units. I don't think there's been anything in it's class before or since.
Despite my unmeasurable brilliance :roll: in figuring out every problem I've had with my GNX, I still read these forums regularly to see what everyone else is experiencing, in case it ever happens to me. It helps me be familiar with the unit and what can, and does, happen with it.
Besides, I know that by posting here regularly, Shania will be calling any day now...

I wouldn't worry too much about all this going away completely. For example, here's an old page:

I agree that they will keep as much of the workstation information and support online as possible. Archiving much of what is on this forum as well.

I think the forums are a great substructure to the tech support system, and if you have ever called them, they will refer you to the sites forums for additional advice or help... with a forewarning of course, of the Antisocial Personality Disorder's, and blatant disregard offered freely.
I've often called tech support at DT, and they know me as Uri Hor Asafiev.
For me it's always a power issue. I keep forgetting to plug my GNX4 in. I'm just the sort of individual they direct to the forums.

I agree, too much good information to lose. Anybody found a great way to print/save threads that are of special interest to us individually? I would want to strip down a number of threads to just revelant info that I wanted to archive, and not necessarily keep everything, just to save paper and space. I have not given it much thought until now, but if the forum goes down I won't be able to use all these online posts with great info via the search anymore. I better start making hardcopies....
