  • Yes indeed. BUT it just goes to show ya no one knows when that last day wil be. Thankfully you can have peace to know your ready when it does come for you 8)
  • You would think that Michael Jackson's death was the only news yesterday. I TIVO 4 different hour long news programs every day. When I watched them last night, every news show was replaced by \"breaking news\" on MJ's death - for the entire hour. I guess nothing else around the world matters.....

I grew up listening to the Jackson 5 and later, MJ as a solo act. He certainly had lots of talent and was a great performer. During my college days in the early 1980's, MJ got overplayed which I think hurt him in the long run. Then all those legal problems. What a tragic ending to his life. Reminds me of Elvis. Both left us great music, both had personal problems that I would not wish on anybody. R.I.P. to both of them and the other celebrities who passed this week.
  • Yeah, sad ending for somebody who has everything one could only dream of.

Now he has peace at last.

    R.I.P MJ
  • mmmmm........maybe......think he was alot more liked in the US than he is here in Britain......Dont think the allegations about his past ever really put him in a good light to lots of people over here..... well judging by the jokes ive heard about him anyway......is it an admisson of guilt to pay someone off??
  • Rest assured, he has his critics here...Don't go thinking that what is shown on US news is a popular sentiment. Can't deny his talent and world impact anymore than you can deny his predations. My belief is Jacko was Wacko, in a criminal way. My guess is that over the years more info will come out on MJ..some credible, some not. He's been dead to me for quite some time already. Pedo's have no place in my life.

Kind of pleased that he's gone a couple days and nobody posted a \"King of Pop Is Dead\" thread on this forum... :!:
  • I have to agree with the sentiment that he was a mess.
His personal life was a mess, and beyond that, anyone who even touches the fringes of pedophilia should be slapped and sterilized. And I think we can all agree that drugs are a bad thing.

There's no denying that he was an incredible talent.
But the \"king Of Pop? Jeez. Sure, he sold a bazillion albums and was one of the recognizable artists of his time.
But can any of you convince me that he was better, more influential, more timeless than the Beatles? Than Mozart? Than Johnny Cash?!? C'mon.
  • I was never a fan, and never bought into the MJ appeal.
Boo-hoo... Buh-bye you wacko-freak. What took you so long?

Angry black man poser, air-humping, non-stop crotch grabbing, sideshow circus freak. I'm astounded he didn't go into Rap. Guess he just wasn't gangsta enuf....or maybe he was prevented by Acorn's Union mob. The gangstas would have lost credibility early on. lol

Only thing I can give him credit for is introducing Jennifer Batten to the big stage. His charities? PR stunt. We're ALL having to spread the wealth now....even those of us who don't have hundreds of millions of dollars, to throw into the wind.

Some people can keep thinking pretty thoughts about him, and I'll go ahead and keep seeing him as a disgusting wacko crotch-grabbing circus sideshow child molester, who was the worlds biggest whiner. It is what it is.

What bothers me even more, is the Nation is more concerned with this sideshow circus freak, than the CAP & TAX BILL the fascist socialist left wing loons are ramming down our throats at this very moment. The wrong \"superstar\" died...oh well. I have HOPE for that to one day CHANGE.

I guess this world is as screwed up as the \"idols\" they fawn over.
...now ask me what I really think.
  • I think the best point 'tou makes is how googoo the world is over this event, even though people of MUCH more import die all the time. I'm 1000 times more upset about my ex-g/f's dad's recent passing than MJ. He was a noble man who brought happiness to all around him, and never ONCE even \"allegedly\" molested a child.
This whole pointless ludicrous broohaha reminds me of the OJ trial, or that weenie on the internet sobbing \"leave Britney alone!!!\". There are much more important things to care about. I mean...I'm a life-long RUSH junkie, but did I wet my pants when Alex got arrested for slapping some bouncer around???

 8) You mean Loss of freedom and government \"owned\" and controlled business isn't change? :? That's what they do in Europe and Canada  So therefore we should be like them? :? Shouldn't we? I know they want us tou! :( Russians wanted change in 1917.. They got it! I wonder how that worked out for'em?

...now ask me what I really think.
Ok I'll bite, So, Manitou! What do you really think?

    Well staying on topic here.

    I say R.I.P Farrah!

But thinking of the 70's... I wonder what happened to Barbi Benton? Catherine Bach! Wow if it wasn't fer Charlies Angels an Daisey Duke.. How would we have gotten thru the mid to later 70's?

Perhaps an Obit stickey!:lol: LMAO  That would be a long thread.. And I know, non of us want to be reminded of our mortality

Now where's that hole in the sand? !
  • all I can say about MJ's death is this: If he was a \"molester\" then that's just plain f*cked up!!! But if he wasn't, then everbody else is f*cked up and I feel bad for the guy.

either way, we'll NEVER know for sure - and it will all be speculation.
  • Guess we can add.. Billy mays? Don't know how to spell his name .. The dude that does the oxy clean commercials. Guess he woke up dead.. er his wife woke up, he was dead!

Not that he is anybody great but still another known name for the Obit!

Too funny...Guy surrounds himself with little boys, not girls..sleeps with them behind a security system at Neverland Ranch...Pays 20 mil to keep someone's mouth shut about an incident with their child...on and on and on..

I'm comfortable with my speculation. Seems like the politically correct thing is to mourn Jackson's death..What a frikkin joke...What a twinkie world we've become. It's a hilarious spectacle.

Don't forget George Fullerton, passed on July 6th.

BTW, doesn't death come in threes?

    I'll say...

I mean...hey, MJ was a stellar performer, and I think that's sort of beyond discussion.
Beyond that...fact is, he was a pretty weird dude with some pretty bizarre behaviors. I mean...can you imagine if the alleged-molestee's were little GIRLS instead of little boys? He'd be doing 20 years for statutory rape and be vilified even worse than he is now.
