  • How did you generate this to begin with. Is this a midi file that is triggering samples or a sound module or softsynth, or is it audio loops pasted together? Need more info.
  • For a longer term solution, I recommend buying Anderton's \"GNX4 Power Users Guide + CD\" which has tutorials and software on programming the drums. Go through his tutorials and you will be able to program your drums and save the files like you want.
  • Not sure if you've seen this page, but from the tutorials section you can take those drum loops from the gnx4 and convert them to midi.

The drum loops from the GNX4 are already midi loops. I can't remember exactly how I did it, but I copied all the GNX4 midi drum loops saved as separate midi files. I think it was in a tutorial in Anderton's book, but I can't remember exactly. I used them as the foundation for some of my earlier songs. Since then, I've learned how to make my own drum loops from Anderton's tutorial and software from his book, and I've got some books on programming drum loops/fills/etc.... I've been programming the drums when needed since then. Having said that, we have a drummer and now I'm just recording our gigs live and working with those wav files. If I ever get serious about recording at home again, I'll be refreshing myself on the midi drums. Nothing beats a good live drummer at a gig, but it is almost impossible to get a good recording of live drums in my home studio with our limited budget. That is where you need skills on programming midi drums - for home recordings.
  • If you go to the workstation home page and click on Craig Anderton's tutorials, the midi loops download is tutorial 23.
