Another Jamman question..

Hi..Since the manual is so poor I need more advice re this pedal....

What does the control on the left of the pedal do?...\"Record mode (Stop mode ) button.....there are 4 options..inst/mic
Aux input
Minus center
Full range amp

The maual barely mentions these!

thanks Ian

  • These let you select the source of what will be recorded, and give you the option of performing some signal processing.

You can select either Inst/Mic or Aux, as your inputs. The loop will then be recorded from the signal from these inputs.

If you select minus center, and the aux input is active, any sound that is common to both the right and left channels will be removed. This is, in effect, what a vocal remover does.

Selecting full range will provide an equalizer to the mix, adjusting the signal to make it more appropriate for \"full range\" amps, rather than for a guitar amp.

Refer to pages 16 and 17 of the manual (printed page numbers, not pdf page numbers.)
  • Thanks again Phil....I quite like the \"slow\" facilty for learning fast pieces...I prefer \"transcribe\" better.....a good program...and Free! ian from deepest Northumbria.
  • Hi..I'm getting the hang of this Jam man..another question..when i lay a track and then over dub...playing the overdub sometimes causes the basic track to lose volume..? any comments.. ian
  • Play. Experiment. Learn. Or wither.

\"Learn or wither\" is a quote from literature. They want us to be smart guyz.

This is usally done on purpose so you can hear the track you are currently playing better. adjust the playback volume on the playback track.
...I used to have a Jamman. I know its somewhere in the manual
as shredd says...Play. Experiment. Learn. Or wither. I like that

...as my friend once said...\"they hide stuff like that in the manual\".
I am in IT so we admins usually refer to issues like this as a ...\"RTFM\" problem. :P all in fun Peaceout!
  • another qyestion : does a loop have to be a certain length of time? can you loop one measure? my loop is wanting to add dead space.

I could be wrong - after all, I STILL think Shania pines for me over glasses of wine  - but I think the length of the loop is set the first time you finish a riff and hit the repeat button. It starts repeating there, for the length of the loop you started with. Everything you add after that goes on a loop of the original loop.

For future reference : A loop must be a minimum of 3.5 seconds in order to loop seamlessly

and, by the way, I think you're right about Shania.

It's not working that way. 2 measure loops are good. 1 measure adds 2 beats of dead space. I've tried all I know to do. And by the way, I think you're right about Shania.
The thing may or may not have a \"quantisize\" function, where it internally sets the loop to begin/end on a beat. That'd change your loop length...
So. Next time you see Shania at Starbucks, have her give me a call, wouldja???
