Officially Ticked... Looper on the RP500 unlocked??

Apparently some programmer or wanna be programmer has unlocked or somehow figured out how to add the looper function to the RP500.
It has some issues as it moves around your patches and amp models. But my biggest gripe is the fact that this can be done on the RP500 and for some reason, it has not been officially released by Digitech. If some \"hacker\" can do it, why can't Digitech step up and do it.
Why is it, I buy the RP500, and one month later they release the new RP355 with a looper. I have a higher end unit and I don't get a looper and a drum machine!!?? I know the 500 has other perks over the RP355. But my gripe is if some dude not affiliated with Digitech can do it, why can't Digitech?
I'm thrilled with the RP500. It's a great sounding unit. But if Digitech could come up with a firmware that will unlock the looper officially, I think they would have some people absolutely thrilled, including me.

Is Digitech going to release an \"Official\" version of this.
It's been done before. GNX3 has the learn-a-lick; GNX4 does not; GNX3000 does. Sometimes they skip a feature in an intermediate model (intermediate in terms of release time, not overall functionality). I don't know why this happens.
It's more strange that the feature is actually there but has to be \"unlocked\"... I don't have an RP500 so I can't try this for myself.
