Recording
I just started in to the recording aspect of music. I am using Nuendo 3 and ART fire tube 8 channel interface. I recorded a midi a track when I want do an audio vacal track I hear vocal sounds but the midi track stops playing when I choose to record and not able to record at the same time as the midi track is playing.

I am thinking about a Presonus Studio Tube connected to my notebook or a Korg D3200 workstation.
Does anybody have any experience with either one of these or recommend one setup over the other?
I'm still not sure which is better for recording, a computer based setup or one of the recording workstations.
I have a 1.66Ghz HP Pavilion dv8000 (Centrino Duo ) with 1 GB RAM and SONAR 7 Producer Edition. Is this computer going to have enough horsepower to record and play 8 tracks simultaneously?
Thanks in advance.
I am very happy with the sound of the FireStudio Tube, however I have experienced problems with their Firewire driver and so have other users. Hopefully they will get that situation corrected soon.
I have heard many positive reviews about the D3200, but there are also some unhappy reviews on the machine too. A guy I know told me to go the laptop/software/interface route instead of getting a recording box like the D3200. Like you, he mentioned that his recorder (not a D3200) was too limited for his needs. He likes the flexibility offered by the computer solutions. I guess I'll be looking for an adapter (which I can afford) and see if I can get something set up for recording on the road with the FP-10. Thanks for the update.
