Is it wrong to want an RP....

500? :) That thing looks sweet and I've read a few good reviews by players already. Sounds like it does everything I originally wanted my GNX3 for. All the effects with out the amp modeling so it can jive well with an amp. The processor sounds like an improvement too.

  • Ain't any worse than wanting hot-tub time with Anne Hathaway, and YOU have a chance for it to actually happen. :?
  • No, nothing wrong. It sounds good, does everything it says it does, and is pretty versatile.
  • Know what you want, and how much you can afford. I have heard good things about the RP-500 and I am sure it would be a great unit. I am partial to the GNX4, which I have owned for a couple of years now, and would highly recommend that unit based on my experience. Check it out if you have not already looked into it. It all comes down to what you want. Good luck.
  • I tried it. I actually owned and GNX1, GNX3 and Rp500 all at the same time for testing. I thought the RP500 looked amazing but the sound to me seemed even more clean/digital/sterile then the GNX series. Very nice pedal though and really easy to use. The problem is that other than the bypass modeling mode, it just doen't have the features the GNX has like the looper, recorder, drum machine, warping. The GNX3 which I have decided to keep (sold the others) combined with the Supermodels sounds better to me.

I will say that I am currently considering an all tube amp and wish I had kept the RP500 to test with these amps. If you have a good tube amp the RP500 is probably the way to go. I use studio monitors with the GNX3.
