  • And There Was Much Rejoicing!!!

I'm jazzed for you - that is just a tasty rig. Lookin' forward to hearing it!!!
And also impressed with your patience. I don't know how you could stand the waiting!
  • About time!

The sad thing is It might be awhile before we hear about her! The forum is suppose to go down Friday! :(

The good thing is you'll have this down time to play the newness right off her! And we'll get a detailed report, when the forum comes back online!
    :)

Curious though, having to wait on her. Is it being shipped with your set up instructions? Or are you going to keep the factory set up ? Or have one done?

    Irreguardless , congratulations Partch!!
  • Rawb I don't know that they do much in the way of set ups? I mean I think they verify all things are within the factory setup specifications. They check like 56 things or something like that? As far as setup yeah all factory & if that don't suite me I will adjust it myself. About the only thing I would deffinetly not feel compfortable with is refretting etc.. I heard the Factory setups are fine. Very few that I have read complained of setup? i think i read were at least one person for there taste lowered it some? & that was not hard at all to do. 8) Anyhow I'll keep you guys posted! :D
  • Can't wait to hear it Partch :D:D Congrats 8)
  • congrats Partch. I too would love one to move up from my modified Squire strat. Can't wait to hear it in action

    mark 8)
  • Congratulations Partch! One of the best things that I've done to my Strats is degloss the neck backs. The only thing is that you need to let a new neck's finish settle first. Long time, no see. How've you been bud?
  • Thanks AC! I've been great man! Hope all is well with you as well! As far as the neck these come in Satin type not gloss. Think JS1000 just like it! A little more meat to it not much though. Pretty much the same neck modern c 8) I've played one of these none FMT version & Rosewood instead of Ebony Board BUT all else the same. Felt incredible & sounded incredible as well! i only played it clean though thru a Hot Rod Deluxe Amp No GNX4 or pedals. i've Heard this guitar sounds great thru anything 8) Time shall tell AC. Take care Bud! 8) :D
  • Oh, that's right. I forgot about the new Strats having satin finishes. 8) Too cool.
  • Congrats Partch. The new \"C\" neck is incredible. I love the feel of it. Enjoy.
  • congratz ! I heard those are sweet players! The noiseless pup's are great

Yo 'wild - hadn't heard a peep outta you in ages. Missed ya, pal. How ya been? Still need someone to babysit your PRS?
BTW everyone I play MfM for loves it. Great riffs...
  • Hey all I did recieve this last Friday. So even without rehersing with it actually only played diddled going thru my main patches at home for like 10min. I did play live at Church on Sunday 8) I thought it went well. A tad clumsy on some of my notes BUT for the most part played pretty clean for not logging some hours on the guitar getting used to the different feel! Anyhow more to come on this guitar after a while! I'll start a new thread or something & hopefully post the completed good to me with this guitar as the Electric sounds/Lead 8) :D

Anyhow first Imppressions: Beautiful, played & sounded great! Felt like more guitar than the JS although it realy is not that much heavier. Seemed to have a rounder fuller tone! & the neck I deffinetly like a little better than the JS it is more round more substance there will deffinetly be better for chording! Overall I would say that this guitar was whorth the wait!! it is very obvious of it's quality! overpriced? I dunno BUT I don't think it was to much for me concidering I'll be keeping this forever & more & likely will hold up & last the test of time just fine without any problems! And still more & likely HOLD it's value not that I'll want to sell it BUT probably could & get a reasonable price years from now! Anyhow I'm very happy so far except for not being able to play it more! Just to busy right now  Hopefully the Lord gives me many years to learn & use this guitar to it's full potential Man there is huge amount of potential there
  • Have you set the guitar up to your specs? One of the first things I do is check the setup on the guitar. More often than not, I end up doing a full setup on the guitar.

Guitars setup is Fine! Action is fairly Low. intonation is spot on! The guitar was basically in tune (Almost) when it showed up to the front door. it has hardly moved at all since I've put it in tune Even with some bending & trem work on Sunday 8) Guitar seems like it is going to be as stable as the JS 8) Anyhow this baby suits me! I realy at this point have no nead to mess with any set up details 8)
  • Here's a great vid for what to look for in a Strat and how to set it up.

    http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZnQt9yiBMg
  • I thought it was a vid on how we all wish we could play a Strat...
  • Congrats Partch.

This Thread is useless without Pics

Just be careful when going straight into your valve junior, you may forget about everything else in your life
  • This Thread is useless without Pics
PICS! PICS! Let's see this juicy ax!!!
  • If you don't post pics soon, I'm sure Cobalt will oblige.
  • Ez Fellows I'll try to get some pics of it soon! i've just been so busy! I mean I've only played it a few times for cryin out loud :x Lookin forward to worship Team Practice tonight! 8) Anyhow the pic thing is such a pain!! i'll have to set up a stinkin photobucket account & remember how to post the image again. You know which link to use. I wish you could just directly post pics! Be so much easier. Anyhow stay posted! i'll probably start a new thread in the pic's section.

All yeah AC cool little vid there you posted! i don't know if my trem is quite setup like that? i do know I can pull up it's not tight to the body! 8) & yes per his check mine is a Hot One 8) I can d4effinetly feel vibrations down there at the plug :D
  • post it back at ToneFarm

A super-light coating of Chapstick in the nut grooves and under the string tree will help keep you in tune. It'll take some breaking in to make tuning very stable though. That's why I prefer brass nuts now. Zero tuning issues.

The trem setup in the vid works like magic. You'll get one-and-a-hald pullup on the G, a whole tone on the B, and a half on the high E. Two-point trems can also do the cricket noise. A nice thing about the trem being set up like this is that the trem arm goes back down to a more reasonable height. Jmho.

Remember AC I have the Roller Nut Already Super Stable! I don't think i need any chapstick? i'm going to check my trem out to see if it has the range that dude spoke of?? inormally don't pull up much & I do very little agressive stuff with the trem BUT I do use it all the time. Another thing I love about this trem is it's just pop in arm 8) Just like the JS Maybe a tad better even? :D
  • I didn't know that you got the HSS config. 8)
  • Yup S1 Switching you know that one. I'll post the pic's soon! :D
