what is the steep learning process that everyone talks about? and is the gnx3000 better than the gnx4 if you don't need the internal recorder? can you reamp on the gnx3000? thanx

The learning curve is what you've accomplished when you stop asking stupid questions.
Uh, what I mean is, the GNX's in general are much more complex than your typical stompbox, and there are so many variables involved - from audio routing, FX settings, amp/cab/warp issues - that no one, except iliace, and maybe g - can just plug the thing in and run with it. You really have to spend some time with the thing to be comfortable with it's capabilities.
Or, you could just buy chorus and distortion stompboxes and save yourself a couple hunnies.
The differences between the '4 and the 3K (not counting the OBR) are STRICTLY personal, you should really go to GC or whatever and test-drive them both and make up your own mind.

this \"learning curve\" isn't as steep as it's made out to be. The controls are just set up like a graph; kind of hard to explain, but very easy to use once you try it out. And as long as you know that the GNX's are actually preamps and, unlike typical stompboxes, aren't meant to feed into the front of your guitar amp - you'll be fine.
GNX4 vs GNX3000? that's subjective, but the GNX3000 does have a newer processor than the GNX4 and supposedly sounds better right out of the box.
